Teaching the Voice and Accent of Great American OratorFebruary 2010: I'm teaching an actor how to speak like a great American orator for a film project. We're studying his accent, rhythms, melody and more so that the actor can sound like him without doing a direct impersonation.

English Accents for Disney's Mary Poppins Tour
January 2010: I'm coaching replacement principals and understudies for the national tour of Disney's hit musical Mary Poppins, currently at the Ahmanson Theater in downtown Los Angeles. I'm cleaning up the cast's Cockney and Standard English accents. Two Dialect Projects Air Sunday 1/17/2010 January 2010: Two projects I coached are airing on the same night, Sunday, January 17: The Wronged Man starring acclaimed British actress Julia Ormond, using a Louisiana accent, on Lifetime Movie Network at 8 PM EDT/ 5 PM PDT; and the Season Premiere of Fox's 24 at 9 PM, starring Indian actor Anil Kapoor (Slumdog Millionaire) using a "Kamistani" accent. Two episodes of 24 will screen Sunday night, with two more episodes showing Monday night at 8; an encore presentation of The Wronged Man will also air Monday night. Dora Episode Airs January, 2010: The Episode of Nickelodeon's Dora The Explorer that I coached, Dora Saves Three King's Day, aired this week. I taught child actors Egyptian and Mexican accents from my office in California while they recorded the episode in New York. Was credited as "Cultural/Educational Consultant"!
Memphis Pilot in New Orleans December 2009: I spent several days in New Orleans, prepping the cast of TNT's Delta Blues in Memphis accents. The pilot stars Jason Lee and also stars Alfre Woodard, Sam Hennings, Abraham Benrubi, Leonard Howze, DJ Qualls and Celia Weston. Executive producers include George Clooney and Grant Heslov. Return to 24 for Russian Dialect December 2009: I was called back to the Fox series 24 to coach a Canadian actor into a Russian accent. Watch for the 2 hour season premiere on Sunday, January 17th, followed by two more episodes the next night! British Client Fools Agents November 2009: An English client with whom I've been working on the American accent writes: "I did a showcase for theatrical agents using my American accent and got called in to meet with (one of them). When I showed up to meet them the agent who had watched was shocked that I was in fact British! He was really impressed and has taken me on with no qualms about sending me out as an American... hooray!" Fantastic for a client to get this kind of affirmation!
Foreign Language On-set of Criminal Minds October 2009: I was called in to teach an actor and a key background player several lines in a foreign language for an upcoming episode of CBS' Criminal Minds (I don't want to give away the plot by naming the language). The production had the lines translated into the foreign language, then I recorded a native speaker reciting the lines, which I then taught to the actor by phone. I went to their set the following day to coach the actor, as well as teaching the lines to a background player. Variety and Others Laud Dialect Coaching in Eclipsed September 2009: Variety, the show business bible, acknowledged my work on the Liberian accents in the Center Theater Group's Eclipsed, now playing at the Kirk Douglas Theater. Bob Verini wrote, "with kudos to dialect coach Joel Goldes." Leigh Kennicott also wrote, on StageHappenings.com, "Of special note is Joel Goldes’ (dialect) coaching: the accents are intelligible without being distracting. And in BroadwayWorld.com, Amber Cassel wrote, "The dialect brings yet another distinct layer of realism, thanks to coach Joel Goldes' efforts." Memphis, The Musical, Opens on Broadway September 2009: Memphis, the musical I coached at La Jolla Playhouse, is in previews for a Broadway opening next month.
Brazil, Boston for Pasadena Playhouse July 2009: I coached Brazilian and Boston dialects for the Pasadena Playhouse production of The Night is a Child, directed by Artistic Director Sheldon Epps and starring JoBeth Williams.
More Accents for 24 July 2009: I can't say exactly where they're from, but in addition to coaching Anil Kapoor, I coached several actors from around the world in international accents for several episodes of 24.
Dialect Coach for The Hangover Star June 2009: I thoroughly enjoyed seeing The Hangover, and remembered while watching one of the scene-stealing stars that I had coached him in this role. Middle-Eastern Accent for Slumdog Millionaire Actor June 2009: I'm coaching Bollywood star Anil Kapoor (Slumdog Millionaire) in a Middle-Eastern accent for the upcoming season of Fox TV's 24.
Boston Accent for Kevin Costner April 2009: I'm back from Georgia, and prepped Kevin Costner last week in a Boston accent for The Company Men, starring Ben Affleck and Tommy Lee Jones, written and directed by ER's John Wells. I also resume sessions this week with Chuy Bravo, from Chelsea Lately. Burmese Accent for American Actor in South Africa April 2009: I prepped an American client of mine in a Burmese accent for the NBC series The Philanthropist. After his arrival in South Africa for the shoot, we did an audio session via skype to brush-up his accent and be sure it was still in place.
Jamaican Accent for Child Actor March 2009: I prepped, then coached by phone an American child actor in a Jamaican accent for his role in Snowmen, shooting on location in Utah.
Louisiana Accent for Julia Ormond in Lifetime Movie
February 2009: I'm on location with noted English actress Julia Ormond, helping her sound authentic for Lifetime's The Wronged Man, set in Shreveport, Louisiana. Based on a true story, it follows Janet "Prissy" Gregory, who helped free wrongfully accused Calvin Willis from prison after 22 years. General Accent for Comic Sidekick January, 2009: I'm coaching Mexican-born actor Chuy Bravo, the sidekick for E! Entertainment's Chelsea Handler on Chelsea Lately in his American accent so his jokes can be more easily understood.

English Accents for Shakespeare and More at Mark Taper Forum October 2008: I've returned to the Center Theater Group to dialect coach The School of Night, directed by noted English director Bill Alexander, opening next month at the newly remodeled Mark Taper Forum in downtown LA's Music Center. Characters in the play include William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, Sir Walter Ralegh and others, so it's mostly English accents, and one Italian.
American Accent for English Actor in London October 2008: I've been coaching a regular client by phone (he's in London) on his American accent for a series called Trinity on English TV (he's a series regular). American Accent for Englishman, English Accent for English Woman October 2008: In the past few weeks I've been teaching an American accent to an English professional, who feels it will help him in his career, and helping an English woman polish her English accent, which has been eroded after many years living in the states. English Accent for Spanish Speaker in Barcelona September 2008: I've lately been teaching a London accent to a client in Barcelona via skype. She believes that having an English accent will open broader possibilities in her professional life. Arkansas for Mrs. Will Rogers, Spanish for Mother Theresa September 2008: I did a session on the Arkansas dialect with the actress playing Will Roger's wife for the Rubicon's production of Will Rogers America and coached Natalia Lazarus in a Spanish accent to portray Mother Theresa in Malcom & Theresa (also starring client Marc Appleby).
Okie/Greek Dialects for Saroyan, Chicago For Ann Landers August 2008: I consulted on the dialects for Syzygy's production of William Saroyan's Love's Old Sweet Song, as well as coaching actress Mimi Kennedy to sound like Ann Landers for the Pasadena Playhouse production of The Lady With All the Answers.
Joel Records Warm-up for Heroes Regular August 2008: I wrote and recorded a customized vocal articulation warm-up for a client who is a series regular on CBS' Heroes. My client was having trouble getting their mouth around the challenging material in the scripts, so after creating a warm-up, I emailed it as mp3 files as well as delivering a cd.
LA Times Lauds Joel's Dialects in Educating Rita August 2008: In its review of the Colony Theater's production of Educating Rita which I coached, The Los Angeles Times writes that Rebecca Mozo "turns in a radiant Rita, mastering the demands of her Liverpool accent...." The reviewer goes on to say that Mozo and her co-star, Bjorn Johnson, are both "deceptively effortless and authentic." MTV Taps Joel for Gs to Gents July 2008: I taped an appearance on MTV's From Gs to Gents which will air in August. Newfoundland Accent for Pilot AuditionJuly 2008: I taught the tricky Newfoundland dialect to a client auditioning for a TV pilot to film in this Canadian province.
Trans-Atlantic ADR Session with Julia Ormond May 2008: I spent the wee hours of the weekend on the phone to London, patched in to GoldCrest Post, coaching my client Julia Ormond in her modified Mid-Atlantic accent for her role as reporter Lisa Howard in Steven Soderbergh's film, Guerilla. The film is being prepped for its world premiere shortly at the Cannes Film Festival, and I got to be a fly on the wall (fly in the ear?) as the actors re-recorded dialogue for scenes in the ADR (Automated Digital Recording) studio. In the scenes we worked on, Ms. Ormond's character is interviewing Che Guevara (played by Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro) about his role in the Cuban Revolution.
Unnamed Dialect for NUMB3RS May 2008: I spent a couple of days on the set of CBS' Numb3rs, coaching an actor in an exotic dialect which I won't reveal here, so I don't spoil the surprise.Cockney Accent for Child Actors on VH1April 2008: I thought reality shows would put a large dent in my career, but I've worked on more than half a dozen of them, including VH1's I Know My Kid's a Star. My episode airs this Thursday, April 17 at 10 PM, and I may be seen teaching the contestants a Cockney accent (in much less time than was needed). Gruff-voiced Danny Bonaduce hosts, and he and his co-host pull no punches with the kids and their parents (Not suitable for kids). Furious Update: Short Film on Afrikaans Dialect May 2008: Furious Theatre produced a (very low-budget) short film featuring an interview in which I talk (under very unforgiving, severe overhead lighting) about the Afrikaans dialects in Saturday Night at the Palace. F Buckley Jr.'s Accent February 2008: I was interviewed by Slate's Michelle Tsai for an Explainer column about why William F. Buckley Jr. spoke the way he did. Many Dialects for Cather's My Antonia April 2008: I've just begun rehearsals for a musical adaptation of Willa Cather's My Antonia at the Rubicon Theatre, adapted and directed by Scott Schwartz (Golda's Balcony) with original music by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell). The dialects include Czech, Norwegian, German and Italian. German Accent for the New Voice of Volkswagen March 2008: I spent a few days in the recording studio keeping an ear on Max, the new voice of Volkswagen. The results may be heard here and on several TV spots now airing. Max is the classic VW Beetle.
SAG Seminar on the General American Accent March 2008: The Screen Actors Guild Foundation invited me back to teach a second seminar, this one on the General American Accent. There were over 120 actors in attendance, from all parts of the globe. SAG members: watch for upcoming LifeRaft seminars here. Sesame Streeter Learns Via Long-distance March 2008: I've been working with a puppeteer from Sesame Street on learning several new accents, including Standard English, Cockney, Appalachian and surfer. He's in New York, so we teleconference via iChat. It's the next best thing to being there. South African Accents for Furious Theatre Company February 2008: I'm consulting on the dialects for Furious Theatre's remount of Saturday Night at the Palace, featuring Afrikaans and Zulu dialects. Brooklyn/California Accent for Lead in Mask, The Musical February 2008: I coached the world premiere of the musical Mask at the Pasadena Playhouse. Based on the movie of the same name, I coached Michelle Duffy, who played Rusty Dennis, in a modified Brooklyn accent, and Suzanne Petrela, who played Angel, in a Tex-Mex accent. Driving Miss Daisy Redux for La Mirada January 2008: I paid a visit to La Mirada to coach the accents in Driving Miss Daisy, including 2/3 of the cast from the Rubicon's 2004 production, Michael Learned and Lance Nichols. Midwestern Dialects and More for Bus Stop January 2008: I returned to the Rubicon Theatre in Ventura to coach the dialects for William Inge's Bus Stop, including Missouri, Mid-Atlantic, Ozarks, and Montana. Persian, Ethiopian, Indian and more for McCarter Theater December 2007: I helped playwright/actor Yehuda Hyman with his dialects for The Mad 7, an IN-Festival Spotlight Production. Yehuda and I met several times at my studio, then had a couple of phone sessions once he was in rehearsal in New Jersey. English, Irish and Mid-Atlantic Accents for Pasadena Playhouse December 2007: I'm coaching the Pasadena Playhouse production of Orson's Shadow. The production features actors playing Orson Welles, Laurence Olivier, Vivien Leigh, Joan Plowright, Kenneth Tynan and an Irish stagehand, so I'm coaching English accents as well as modified Mid-Atlantic for the Welles character. The cast includes Sharon Lawrence, Charles Shaugnessy, Bruce McGill and Scott Lowell.
Joel Helps Nicolas Cage Polish NJ dialect November 2007: I prepped Nicolas Cage in a New Jersey accent for an upcoming film. This was the second time I've worked with Mr. Cage: the first time I coached him in a Spanish accent. Brooklyn Accent for ABC's General Hospital November 2007: I prepped actress Megan Ward by phone to play a character from Brooklyn on the daytime drama General Hospital. Prior to our first phone session, I recorded her dialog in the Brooklyn dialect and emailed her mp3 files to review. Stay tuned for the air date. American Accent ADR with Julia Ormond November 2007: I had an ADR (Automated Digital Recording) session with English actress Julia Ormond for her role as Abigail Breslin's mom in HBO Film's Kit Kittredge: An American Girl.SAG Foundation Workshop on the Standard English AccentNovember 2007: I taught an introductory workshop on Received Pronunciation (RP) to approximately 125 members of the Screen Actors Guild, through their LifeRaft series. Upcoming workshops for members may include Learning the General American Accent and Learning Arabic Dialects. American Accent with Julia Ormond for ThrillerOctober 2007: I worked with English actress Julia Ormond in the ADR (Automated Digital Recording) studio to ensure that her American accent was on-track for Surveillance, directed by Jennifer Chambers Lynch. This film marks my third collaboration with the talented Ms. Ormond.
Helping Native Spanish Speakers Sound American October 2007: Among my clients from around the world, I'm currently helping two native Spanish speakers with their American accents: a spokesperson in the Chancellor's Office of Media Relations for the California State University, originally from Colombia and a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young, originally from Spain.
German Accent for Golden Globe Nom'd Actress October 2007: I prepared a Golden Globe-nominated actress in a subtle German-English dialect for her screen test for a major motion picture.
Speech Coaching for NBA Commentator September 2007: I worked for several weeks preparing an NBA color commentator for the upcoming basketball season. We addressed issues of stress, intonation, and a few regional accent sounds to insure that his speech is as clear and natural-sounding as possible. We also made sure that he is correctly pronouncing the names of the players from around the world.
African Accent for Florida Play September 2007: I coached an American actress by phone in her Zimbabwe accent for the Gable Stage production of In the Continuum.
National Public Radio Reporter Interviews Joel August 2007: NPR's Neda Ulaby interviewed me for a story about Hispanics accents. She also recorded a session with my client, Luis Arrieta, a Mexican-born actor to whom I taught an Argentinian accent. The story aired on August 30: click here to listen. Pre-Broadway Production for Pasadena Playhouse August 2007: I've just begun work at the Pasadena Playhouse on the world premiere of Matter of Honor by Michael J. Chepiga (Getting and Spending), directed by Scott Schwarz. I'm coaching South Carolina, Virginia, Minnesota and New York dialects for the piece, set at West Point in 1880. Heroes Series Regular Perfects Accent August 2007: I'm working with a series regular on NBC's Heroes, helping her with the regional accent the producers have asked her to do.
Helped Host with Speech for New Game Show August 2007: I spent several sessions with the host of a new network game show, helping him with issues of articulation and clarity, especially when reading with complicated questions quickly.
Client Books Game with English Accent August 2007: My long-time client, actress Cathy Cavadini (Powerpufff Girls), booked the video game of The Golden Compass using the English accent we worked on. Cathy said, "You're my savior!" Episodic Coaching: House and Shark July 2007: I just prepped an actress in a Polish accent for a guest-starring role on Fox's House, and made a "how-to" recording on the pronunciation of a Russian line for Shark on CBS. I then emailed the recording to the studio so the actor could use it as an aid in learning the Russian language line. Southern Accent for Cable Guy's Wife

I'm sworn to secrecy as to what and whom I was coaching, but will reveal all after the new season begins.... Phone Sessions with Julia Ormond for American Girl June 2007: I recently prepped English actress Julia Ormond by phone in her American accent for Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Mystery. Julia first asked me to prepare a customized speech warm-up that she could do every day: I recorded this in my studio and emailed her the sound files. When she arrived in Toronto for filming, we went over all her lines by phone in the American accent. I then over-nighted her the cd recording of our session so she could review it as she films.

Nickelodon Taps Joel for Dora the Explorer May 2007: I recorded "scratch tracks," or temporary tracks for the animators, in Egyptian and Mexican accents for an episode of toddler TV favorite Dora the Explorer. JC, the recording engineer, complimented my preparation and the distinct and authentic sound for each accent. And I did the dialects by phone from the comfort of my office while they recorded my voice in Nickelodeon's New York studios. History Boys Aspirants Learn RP/Yorkshire May 2007: I've coached several actors auditioning for the Center Theatre Group's upcoming production of The History Boys, about students applying for Oxford and Cambridge. The accents they've learned are Yorkshire or Received Pronunciation (RP), or a Standard English accent.
Hamlet Text Coaching at Rubicon April 2007: I got to flex my Shakespeare muscles by coaching the cast of Hamlet on how to make the Bard's 400 year-old language intelligble to a modern audience. The acclaimed production runs through May 20 at Ventura's Rubicon Theatre.
All Phone/Webcam Day March 2007: Had a day in which all my sessions were done by phone or via webcam. I often have several phone sessions each day, but this was the first day that not one of my seven clients darkened my door.
Dutch for The Diary of Anne Frank February 2007: I coached the cast of the Rubicon Theatre's production of this beautiful play in Dutch pronunciations of the many names in the play. I also recorded Dutch, German and London accent voiceovers to be played from the radio. December 2006/January 2007: I've been coaching English actress Julia Ormond on the set of I Know Who Killed Me, helping her perfect her American accent. Ms. Ormond is playing Lindsay Lohan's mom in this thriller directed by Chris Sivertson. Joel Polishes Mississippi Accent with Charlotte's Web Star December 2006: I had an exhaustive prep session with Kevin Anderson, now appearing in the current release Charlotte's Web. Kevin will be starring opposite Amanda Plummer in the Papermill Playhouse production of Tennessee Williams' Summer and Smoke, and we refined his Mississippi accent. Joel Coaches the Who's Roger Daltrey for CSINovember 2006: I coached Roger Daltrey, the lead singer of the English rock band The Who, in four different accents and Spanish for his starring role in the CSI episode Living Legend on CBS. I recorded all of his dialogue in the various accents and overnighted the cd to him so he could get a headstart while he was touring with The Who, and coached him on-set as well. The episode aired on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, November 23nd, but you can see episode details here and listen to samples of Roger's dialects here.Joel Coaches Entourage Star November 2006: I worked with Adrian Grenier, the star of HBO's Entourage and The Devil Wears Prada, on the set of Adventures of Power, coaching him in a Texas accent. Joel Interviewed for "Dailies" November 2006: Reelz Channel interviewed me about how I work, and shot some footage of me teaching their English-born reporter an American accent, as well as working with a Polish-born client of mine. Dutch Citizen Praises Ryan Phillipe's Dutch Accent October 2006: I received an email from a Dutch citizen reading, "Just like to applaud you on Ryan Phillipe's Dutch accent in Five Fingers. I wondered myself if he really was Dutch. I am myself and his accent was very convincing. Job well done: I always assumed it must be difficult either to fake or teach a Dutch accent for someone who is not Dutch himself, but this proves it can be done." Five Fingers will be in theaters in early 2007. Ben Stiller Speaks Spanish in Dreamworks Comedy October 2006: Dreamworks and the Farrelly Brothers hired me to coach Ben Stiller in Spanish for their new, as-yet-untitled comedy, currently shooting in Southern California and Mexico. Reelz Channel Taps Joel for Interstitial September 2006: Reelz Channel, a new cable network devoted to films and filmmaking, sent a crew to my studio to record me working with a client for an interstitial about my work. It will show between longer programs as one of a series of shorts about people who work on films.
American Child Actor Earns London Screentest September 2006: I prepped a young actor for her audition to play opposite Brendan Fraser with an English accent. She earned a callback and screentest for which she was flown to London, and was the only American girl testing against three English girls. Best wishes!

August 2006: I taped an appearance on the show TV Candy hosted by Melissa Rivers for the TV Guide Channel. I taught an aspiring screenwriter how to sound like Christopher Moltosanto from The Sopranos (a character whom he admires), with a New Jersey accent, as well as teaching him breath support techniques to help him sound more confident. The episode will air in mid-December 2006. Phone Client Offers Kudos After Cockney Coaching August 2006: Actor Constance Zaytoun, a client in New York City, offered these words of thanks after I coached her in a Cockney accent for the premiere of Broken Hands at the Fringe Festival: "Thank you so very much. Client Books ER Guest Star, National Spot Using New Neutral Accent August 2006: My client, actor Sal Viscuso, originally from Brooklyn, booked a guest-starring role on ER and a national T-Mobile spot using the neutral American accent we've been working on. Congratulations, Sal! New Hampshire Accents for Our Town July 2006: I coached the Rubicon Theatre's Young Actors Conservatory production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town. The actors did a fine job with the tricky New Hampshire accents in a very moving production.
Leprechaun for VISA spot July 2006: House of Usher Films brought me in to teach an English actor how to sound Irish to play a leprechaun gurding his gold at the end of a rainbow for a television spot for the VISA check card. The spot may be seen here.
Joel Flies to Houston for CEO with Texas Twang July 2006: I was flown to Houston to help the CFO of a large, publicly-traded tech company soften his Texas accent. He delivers quarterly financial reports to shareholders and the media, and also wanted help invigorating this dry material. We continue with follow-up sessions by phone.
Variety Lauds Phillippe for Accent Coached by Joel June 2006: Ryan Phillippe was praised by Variety, the show business bible, for his dialect work in the Twentieth Century Fox film, Five Fingers: "...Phillippe acquits himself admirably, even down to the elusive Dutch accent." Joel Coaches Audio Recording of Noel Coward Script June 2006: I worked with the cast of Me and the Girls, an adaptation of a Noel Cowrd short story in the recording studio, helping them perfect English and Irish accents. The adaptation will be submitted to the Noel Coward Society in England, for their consideration of approval of a film version.
Joel's Accents Praised in Film ReviewMay 2006: The three English actors I coached on-set for Art School Confidential were lauded for their American accents in a review of the film by James Berardinelli in Reelviews: Is it a commentary on the current state of American acting (where classical training is almost a thing of the past) that three of the most prominent roles in Art School Confidential are filled by British-born thespians (using impeccable American accents)? Sophia Myles, seen most recently in Tristan + Isolde, is as attractive as she is talented. Max Minghella (son of director Anthony) shows ability beyond his short resume. And Jim Broadbent is, as always, superb (and, in this case, disturbing). April 2006: Concetta Tomei was cast in an Argentinian role in Lincoln Center Theatre's upcoming production of The Clean House after we spent several phone sessions together prepping the role. She flies to New York City in August to start rehearsals, before which, we'll work through the whole script together. Concetta said, "Thanks for your unbelievable skill in helping me to understand this dialect!"

Joel a Panelist on Linguistic Profiling April 2006: I participated on a panel about linguistic profiling for the Housing Rights Center's annual summit, held at the Los Angeles Times headquarters. Also participating were a socio-linguist, an employment attorney and a professor of American Studies. The panel discussion focussed on people who are discriminated against based on assumptions made about their race based on the sound of their voice. March 2006: I was seen (by my mom and several clients) on The Oprah Winfrey Show last week, in a clip from the documentary series Black. White. The show follows a black family and a white family who "switch races" using advanced Hollywood makeup techniques, in order to get a first-hand look at what it's like to be part of another race. I helped the families learn how to sound appropriate to their new race, and if the Oprah show is any indication, I should appear in the documentary as well (look for me wearing a blue shirt). Black. March 2006: One of my English clients, Mark Aikin (he's actually from Northern Ireland, originally), recently filmed his first role using the American accent we've been working on, on CSI: Miami. Congratulations, Mark!
Manchester Accents for Surf SpotMarch 2006: I was on the set for a detergent commercial for the UK market, working with two very talented English actors, helping them refine their Manchester accents. English Accent for Disney's Movie Surfers February 2006: I recently reunited with my old (young) client, Aaron Fors, and we polished his English acccent for Disney's Movie Surfers for the UK and Scandinavian markets.
Joel Coaches Samantha Morton in American Accent February 2006: I recently prepped English actress Samantha Morton in her American accent for her starring role as a meter maid in the indie feature Expired, currently filming around Los Angeles.
NEWS: Client Books Seattle Musical Workshop as Famous Autistic February 2006: My client Caryn West booked the lead role in Seattle Rep's workshop of Temple, a new musical based on the life of Temple Grandin, a high-functioning autistic who designs slaughterhouses. I helped Caryn prep the voice and dialect for her audition, then coached her by phone from Seattle after she booked the role.

Brothers Book Roles on ABC's Lost After Coaching Session November 2005: Two clients, brothers Jeremy and Zack Shada booked roles on ABC's hit series Lost after I coached them into a Manchester English accent. They flew to Hawaii last week to film their roles!
Irish Accent to American November 2005: My client Aidan Mitchell, who grew up in Ireland, booked a lead role in the film The Simple Things, using the American accent I taught him.
African Accent for Period Film November 2005: I'm working this week with Tommy "Tiny" Lester, teaching him an African accent and re-recording his role in the ADR studio on One Night with the King to better match the period setting.
Broadway Coaching by Phone October 2005: Had a phone session dialect coaching actress Laura Dekkers into an Upper Class English accent (also called RP or Received Pronunciation) and a North Cumberland accent for the Broadway premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical The Woman in White. Laura also had me record her dialogue in the respective dialects, so she could listen to them for reference (I emailed them to her as mp3 files and mailed her a backup cd.)
Daily Sessions for Russian to Czech October 2005: Spent two weeks in daily dialect coaching sessions with Svetlana Metkina, refining her Czech accent for Bobby, written and directed by Emilio Estevez and starring Anthony Hopkins.
A New Accent: The Gift That Keeps on Giving October 2005: Taught an American nurse a Russian accent so she could surprise her boyfriend with her new accent for his birthday. Also began phone coaching with a Russian actor who's been living in New York for ten years and is anxious to learn the American accent.

Russian Accent for Treasure Raiders September 2005: I've been dialect coaching William Shockley by phone in his Russian accent for Treasure Raiders, which he'll shoot shortly in Moscow.
