Ryan Phillippe was praised by Variety, the show business bible, for his dialect work in the Twentieth Century Fox film, Five Fingers: "Phillippe acquits himself admirably, even down to the elusive Dutch accent." I worked with him in the ADR (Automated Date Recording) studio, in sessions directed by Laurence Fishburne.

The three English actors I coached on-set for Art School Confidential were lauded for their American accents in a review of the film by James Berardinelli in Reelviews: Is it a commentary on the current state of American acting (where classical training is almost a thing of the past) that three of the most prominent roles in Art School Confidential are filled by British-born thespians (using impeccable American accents)? Sophia Myles is as attractive as she is talented. Max Minghella (son of director Anthony) shows ability beyond his short resume. And Jim Broadbent is, as always, superb (and, in this case, disturbing).

"The work of dialect coach Joel Goldes, I'm happy to report, is superb."
